10 Foods I Buy Every Week (Nutrition Coach Approved)

Every single week, I buy the same 10 foods on repeat. Not because I don’t love variety—but because these staples make grocery shopping simple, meal prep easier, and hitting my nutrition goals a whole lot less stressful.

In this post, I’ll give you a quick look at what they are and why they matter. But if you really want to see how I use them in my day-to-day life, you’ll want to watch the full video 👇

Why Grocery Staples Matter

When I’m grocery shopping, I use something I call the Plate Method to structure my trip through the store:

  • A solid source of protein

  • Carbs for energy

  • Fats for satiety

  • Fruits and veggies for fiber and nutrients

That framework makes meal prep (and shopping) quick and repeatable. In the video, I show you exactly how I use this method with my own staples.

The 10 Foods I Never Skip

Here’s the quick list of what’s always in my cart:

  1. Meats (beef, chicken, pork)

  2. Protein powder

  3. Dairy proteins (cottage cheese + Greek yogurt)

  4. Eggs

  5. Nuts, nut butters, and oils

  6. Fruits

  7. Vegetables

  8. Carbohydrates (rice, potatoes, oats, bread)

  9. Sparkling water

  10. Electrolytes

Putting It All Together

The foods themselves aren’t complicated—it’s the way you use them consistently that matters. With just a handful of proteins, carbs, fats, fruits, and veggies, you can build dozens of balanced meals without overthinking it.

That’s why I keep my grocery shopping simple and stick to the same 10 staples every week.
